Feast of Justin Martyr
Justin's descriptions of Christian worship are uniquely valuable because they were written for pagan emperors, not for Christians. When he explains the Eucharist in the First Apology, he is not writing internal theology — he is explaining a foreign custom to an uninvested, potentially hostile audience. He had no motive to exaggerate. What he describes is simply what Christians did and believed.
